WYOMING RETREAT 2025

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We’re so excited to welcome your KIDz to our upcoming WY Retreat KIDz room! We have a fun-filled schedule planned, packed with 4th of July activities, learning, and lots of laughter.

Movie Time at Rest Time
Each day after lunch, the KIDz will wind down with a movie of their choice. Here’s the list of age-appropriate movies that will be available throughout the event:

1. Treasure Planet

2. Tangled

3. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (new version)

4. The 13th Year

5. The Lizzie McGuire Movie

6. Let It Shine

7. The Greatest Showman

8. Coco

9. Up

The kids will vote daily on which movie to watch—just one more way we’re making this event their own! If they would like to bring a favorite blanket or pillow for more comfortable watching, that would be great! (as we are on a cabin wood floor)

Packing List for KIDz
To help ensure your child has the best experience possible, please send them with the following:

  • A water bottle labeled with their name (The one necessity!!! We want to stay hydrated)

  • A light jacket, just in case it gets chilly or we go outside

  • Bug spray, especially if your child is sensitive to bites if we go outside

  • Snacks your child enjoys, especially if they have specific preferences or dietary needs. We will have our usual snacks, PB&J's and a fruit tray for this event.

  • If your child brings a toy, please know that we encourage sharing

  • We have a calming corner with age-appropriate books, but your KID is welcome to bring a favorite book from home to read or any activities they may want to do.

Helping KIDz Navigate Big Feelings

Throughout the event, we’ll be working together on important social skills like understanding feelings, sharing, and communicating kindly with others. Before the event, we kindly ask that you have a quick chat with your kiddo about:

  • Sharing with friends

  • Keeping hands and bodies safe (no hitting) We don't touch friends without asking.

  • Letting an adult know if they need help or if something is bothering them. There will be 2 + me (3 total) adult helpers in the room at all times.

  • KIDz are not allowed to leave the KIDz room without a parent checking them in and out. There will be a timesheet for each KID that you will need to fill out. We do ask during breaks in the main event space, that parents come get their children so they can also get a small break out of the room too.

We understand that sometimes Big Feelings happen. When they do, we take a gentle, supportive approach—getting down on their level, talking things through, and helping them understand and regulate what they’re feeling. If a moment arises where your child needs a little more support than I can give in the moment, I’ll come find you in the event space so we can work together to help them feel safe and supported.

If you have any questions or special considerations you'd like us to know about, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for trusting us with your amazing KIDz—we can't wait to make memories with them!

Warmly,
KIDz Room Director ~ Phyre Deming
